When I was asked to help design the mascot for the 2016 PGMF I was excited! Most of my crafted pieces use natural things, like shells and seaglass and/or recylced materials, like plastic.

We decided to make a Nutmeg playing guitar. We used burlap for the skin and filled the mascot with shredded plastic. The guitar was made locally by Carlos Gittens, the production of the mascots was done in collaboration with Music and Beyond, the JJ Robinson Trust and PAM (The Programme for Adolescent Mothers). We named the mascot 'Nutty Meggie'.
